Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend
passed away at Serenity House in Santa Barbara.
She was surrounded by loving family and passed
peacefully.

Vera was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to
Reginald and Amy Comley. She was the middle
child between brothers Ken and Vernon. Beautiful
and vivacious, she developed a lifelong love of
singing by performing as a soloist in the church
choir and at weddings.

At age 19 she married Larry Williams, a longtime family friend. Their
first child, Laurie, was born in 1948. They later emigrated to California,
settling in Culver City where son, Tom, was born in 1952. Larry passed
away after a long illness in1972. As a single woman, Vera was able to
support herself and offer loving advice and support to her family. She
worked as a customer representative at GTE for over 20 years where she was
adored by coworkers and clients alike.

Vera met Max Henderson at an exercise class at the Santa Barbara YMCA.
They married in 1989 and spent 28 happy years traveling and spending time
with their extended family. Max passed away in 2017.

Vera was outgoing, funny and made friends where ever she went. She was
a stylish dresser and could put together an outfit for any occasion with just
the right accessories. She was an avid bargain shopper and loved to show us
her latest finds. Vera loved spending time with her family and friends. She
will be greatly missed. Vera, we love you a whole big bunch!
