I am very sorry not to have known Diana better than that allowed by our all too brief meeting at a 2011 conference in Europe, but I am very aware of the important place she had in the life of my colleague, James. Having walked a similar path, I can appreciate the magnitude of her loss to family and friends. After such a long and heroic struggle to overcome her illness, I can only offer my condolences and prayers that they find some comfort and solace in the knowledge of her life well lived and rich with abundant love and affection.

My condolences to the family of this remarkable woman. I loved working with Diana at the Botanic Garden as a docent. We shared many Science Nights in local elementary schools. At one particular Science Night, we were scheduled between the live snakes and the live birds of prey. She laughed about our wild flowers and said, "We may have a bit of a problem." We did but we carried on! Her kindness and enthusiasm were an inspiration.
Dear Jim, I was saddened to learn of Diana's death. She was so brave, so funny and so completely lovely. As I often heard you say, shaking your head as if in disbelief. Isn't she lovely ! And Diana would smile her bright joyful smile. I know you and yours will miss her always. She was an amazing spirit!
