I had the pleasure of meeting “Antonio” at the Pismo Beach Athletic Club when I first moved to the Central Coast in 2004. We became gym friends instantly because of our Italian heritage. Every morning, we would meet for about 1 1/2 hrs, workout, and solved the problems of the world!. I would speak to him in Italian and he would respond back in a very fluent manner. When I visited my favorite Italian store down south, I would always bring him 6 “hot” Italian sausage for him and Marilyn. He would usually reciprocate with a bottle of Fresno State red wine. As we became better friends, he showed an interest in the shooting range in SLO. So we would meet, along with another friend, Mark, for a morning of shooting. He was a pretty good shot!! Afterwards, we went to the Italian Deli in San Luis Obispo for a cold sub sandwich and chips, or Brads for a burger. We always had a great time. Although there was an age difference of 24 yrs, we got along great. In 6 years, Antonio would turned 100 and the Olympic’’s will be in Italy. I told him I would take him when he made that magic age. He was all for it. I will miss you my friend and “gumba”. May you Rest In Peace. You lived a long, great life. May God bless you as he should. Carl

RIP Tony with love, Toni/Village Salon

I remember how kind Tony was to me. He and Marilyn came to visit as often as they could. I enjoyed seeing both of them. I especially remember riding to Applebees’s and listening to Tony tell a story. I also enjoyed going to California to see them too.
You were a sweet gentle man. You will be remembered forever. Love Perry

We were so happy when Tony joined our family by marrying Marilyn. What a perfect couple they made. We always looked forward to visits both in Iowa and California, Tony was a very special person. He was always smiling. He was very soft spoken and had a kind heart. We will treasure our memories the rest of our lives. The last one was a few years ago, when we were able to connect in Santa Barbara. We will love and miss you. Love Carol and Robert Ellingsworth

I had the privilege of meeting Tony when I first started as an assistant for Creative Mediation in 2006. He was one of our most dedicated volunteer mediators. In the first year or two of my career, we met weekly at the Grover Beach Court House (with Judy G.). Often, after mediations were over, we'd walk down the block to the Mexican restaurant together and find a booth to just drink coffee and talk. I so enjoyed his company and conversation. Even after he didn't mediate anymore, he remained an ambassador and donor for our programs. He stayed in contact, keeping me informed about other retired volunteers and attending gatherings and fundraisers when he was able.
On behalf of all our current and former staff and volunteers, I send our care and condolences to his family. Tony was a unique and lovely person and we will all miss him dearly.

Tony was such a bright presence and always had us smiling. I enjoyed the times when he and Marilyn came to visit us in Iowa. I remember picking them up at the airport and getting to eat lunch at the airport restaurant, which I thought was very cool. Most recently, we went to California to visit, and he was just as smiley as ever. We will miss you!

Anthony was one of the first mediators (Conflict Resolution of the Central Coast--renamed Creative Mediation). I was the learner and he was the teacher. A soft-spoken man always ready with a twinkle in his eye and a smile, I learned so much from his open, friendly manner. A wise man, I heeded his advice many times.
Later, when visiting a friend at Mission View Health Center, I saw Tony every so often. My friend thought he was great and indicated that staff and patients appreciated his caring and his friendly ways.
I've missed seeing him when our paths no longer crossed. Now, I'm missing him again.
My condolences to Marilyn, another nice Difazio.
