Obituary of Frederick Nieves

Fred S. Nieves, 94 of Santa Barbara CA, passed away on Saturday November 26th , 2022. Fred was born to Juan and Carmen Nieves on March 14th, 1928, in Carpinteria California. Fred lived his life with a smile on his face, a humble heart and complete devotion and true love to his Wife Virginia and his family. Many knew Fred and loved him, from his years at Raytheon Technologies, to his years of being the popular and very loved crossing guard at Monroe Elementary School. He was fun loving, always willing to lend a hand and had a smile that brightened any room. Fred is survived by his wife Virginia of 66 years, his sons Richard and Robert Nieves of Santa Barbara, Sister Francis Cerda of Carpinteria, Granddaughters Crystal Godinez of Templeton CA, Diana Martinez of Columbus IN, Grandson David Velasco of Las Vegas NV along with many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Services for Fred will be held at McDermott Crockett & Associates Mortuary at 2020 Chapala St. in downtown Santa Barbara on December 27th, 2022, at 11:30 a.m.
