Linda, was so kind always...she helped me, as a new caregiver...which became a career..
She always had a strong faith.
I loved that about her ..a calmness, in a world of turmoil.
Gone too soon..
She blessed so many with her kindness.

I’ll miss my big sister. Here is one of my favorite photos of her, a faded old slide but I still love it.

I remember her being such a caring, sweet person, and what stands out above all was how she was so devoted as a loving daughter. Sympathies to all who loved and knew her. She will be missed and remembered.

Here are some memories via longtime & childhood friend Marsha Gerber:
Linda was born on March 7, 1949. She was the first child of Betty and Bob Gregory. Her father worked for an aircraft company designing planes. Her mother was a homemaker. Linda's childhood was in southern California about one mile from the Port of Los Angeles. Her childhood was very secure and safe. It was a small town atmosphere and every day she went with her friend Marsha to Henry's store to buy treats. There was a path through an open field and one year the girls decided to build a "fairyland Trail" to Henrys . This was done by collecting the neighborhood trees setting out on the curb for pick up to haul away. The girls dragged many trees to the pathway and believed that they would grow. That is the sense of imagination that permeated Linda's childhood. Very magical and lots of imagination. The fathers had to take all the trees back to the street.
Linda was the originator (along with Marsha) of the "King Avenue News"-- A neighborhood newspaper that Linda's Father took to work to duplicate for her. The "newspaper" also sponsored events such as a Huluhoop contest.
Linda loved cats and her favorite cat was Graylegs. Her sister Roberta cut Grayleg's whiskers off and he lost his sense of balance for a while.
Linda played the accordion because her mother was very good at it. Linda loved any thing to do with music her whole life. That was her passion.
Linda loved telephone pranks. She and Marsha would random dial someone and pretend to be someone else. This caught up the girls when they pretended to be two very young girls and talked with an older woman who had lost her daughter. She became attached to the girls and showed up at Marsha's doorstep to meet the "little girls" who in reality were not so little.
Linda and Marsha went to summer camp several summers. There was a girl there that after they returned home from camp they wrote letters to the girl from a cute boy at summer camp. They got into trouble for this little prank.
Linda went to Rolling Hills High School and graduated from Cal State Dominguez.
She was the Deputy City Clerk for the City of Redondo Beach for many years before moving to Santa Barbara.
