Obituary of Christiana Moed

Was born in Schaijk, Noord-Babant, the Netherlands on August 13, 1914 to Marcellus and Anna van de Ven. She was the third oldest daughter, in a family of 11 children. Christiana died peacefully, after a long illness, on August 23rd at Valle Verde Health Center, in Santa Barbara. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Hendrik Moed, her husband of 53 years, and her sons John and Hendrik Moed. She is survived by her daughters Mieke Hawner (Reiner), of Santa Barbara, Marja Moed, of Nova Scotia, and Tonnie Walker of Wheeler, Oregon, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren . Christiana was loved by all who knew her. Her family was the center of her life, and she will be greatly missed by all of us. The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Valle Verde nursing home, for their compassion, love and support. Memorial services are pending. To honor Christiana's memory, you may wish to make a private donation to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers. The funeral service will take place Saturday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in San Clemente. Graveside services to follow at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, Orange County.
