Obituary of Vincent Castillo

On July 24th 2012 our beloved son, brother, father, and friend (GUERO)VINCENT CASTILLO JR. 40 went to join his dad in eternal life. Guero was the kind of man that would bring life to a party, cracking jokes and making people laugh that was his gift! For people in need he would do all he could, giving the shirt off his back, if necessary. He lived in Goleta as a young boy then moved to Santa Barbara's Westside and lived there for the better half of his life. He married Lizeth Hernandez Castillo and fathered 3 wonderful boys Vincent III 14, Isaac 9, and Gabriel 8. He was always a hard worker, never afraid of getting his hands dirty, he followed in his dad's footsteps and was a mechanic by trade until four years ago when he went to Santa Maria, to be closer to his mom Dolores Leyva Castillo and sisters Tina Ramos, Anna Galindo and Lola Contreras. The biggest love of Guero's life was his boys always wanting to be there for them, as well as his 14 nieces and nephews, always loving the kids and giving them dollars or change for candy anything to make them smile! His relationship with the children of his family was that of a loving tio who could never be replaced. There were dozens of people who came to be with Guero his last days, they all said again and again," he fought a good fight, he earned his way to heaven" he passed peacefully, with his closest family and friends at his side comforting him and playing his favorite corridos! The absence of his voice and his laugh and his love will always be hard to bear, we must all hold on to his memory and find solace in that which is true: Jesus has him in his hands and all his pain and suffering is over, he will have peace in his heart and nothing will hurt any longer. Let that bring all who loved him some comfort.
