Obituary of Michael Middleton

Michael George Middleton passed away peacefully in his sleep at Buena Vista Care Center in Santa Barbara on May 29, 2012. He had been residing there since 2000 after suffering a stroke in 1993. He was born in Santa Barbara January 4, 1945 and lived with his grandmother and mother in Carpinteria until his father returned at the end of WWII. As the son of an Air Force officer, he spent his youth and teen years living in many different states, as well as Japan. He graduated from Wasson High School in Colorado and San Jose State University in 1966. He worked for many years as an auditor in the hotel industry in New York and California. Michael loved listening to country music, playing the guitar, watching sports on TV, and being with his family. He was always interested in what everyone was doing and what was happening in their lives. Michael was the oldest of three children born to George and Madelyn Middleton of Carpinteria CA. He will forever be remembered by his devoted parents and sisters Cathy and Margie, his beloved son Bryan Todd, grandchildren Michael, Matthew and Rebecca, brothers-in-law Edward and Alan, niece Tanya and nephew Christopher and their families, along with many friends and family members whom were blessed to know him. Michael touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and never said a mean word to or about anyone. Even through difficult times in his life he did not become bitter and maintained his trademark sense of humor to the end. No services are planned and the family request donations be sent to Buena Vista Care Center, 160 S. Patterson Avenue, Santa Barbara, CA 93111 in memory of Michael and with thanks to the wonderful staff for their years of compassionate care. "All manner of things shall be well; and all manner of things shall be well!" Saint Julian of Norwich
