Emily Bailey

Obituary of Emily Anne Bailey

Our Angel, God called our angel Emily Anne into his arms on August 17. He now has another special addition to the paradise line-up which includes Emily's grandmother Harlene Bailey and grandfather Blaine Moore. We know that they will all take special care of our loving daughter. Emily's life was briefer than we would have liked of course, but it was especially full of color and grace. God provided her with an extraordinary gift of healing as many of us have and will experience. She had special gifts that those of you with artistic perspectives can appreciate. Color, shape and poetry were her language. We often told her that her appreciation of the wonder of the world and abilities to express and articulate this wonder in art and writing was very special and not gifts that God gives to many people. She enjoyed Santa Barbara, but fell in love with Santa Cruz and moved there to attend Cabrillo College after graduating from Dos Pueblos High School. The ocean had special attraction for her and she spent hours studying and writing in her journal on the beach. To know Emily was to love Emily. She cared and loved deeply. She is survived by her parents Brian and Terri Bailey, her much cherished brother Blaine, his grandmother Sue Moore, her grandfather Robert Bailey and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. All friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Party for her on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 4 to 7 PM at Glen Annie Golf Course in Goleta. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Heart Association.
