Obituary of Scott Warwick

Was born on October 25th 1960 and passed away from natural causes at his home on July 4th 2015. Scott was the 4th child of six that grew up in Montecito during the 70s. He attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel School where he excelled in academics, especially math. One of his teachers "finally understood" Scott and allowed him to go outside and water the class garden when he finished his assignments early. Scott was a free spirit who, according to his Mother Jan "walked to the beat of a different drum". For fun, Scott loved to go skating with his friends down the hills of Montecito and grow gardens. One year his bean plant was so tall it made the News Press. He was taught to surf by his oldest sister Lisa and was hooked ever since she lifted him over her head. Scott was a Butterfly beach local, where he spent time with his best friend Andy. He attended Bishop Diego High School and was then "transferred" to Santa Barbara High. He was a star football player where he earned his nickname Wardog. Scott loved the ocean and decided to pursue a career where he could be happiest. He received his 5 Ton Captains license and became a Captain for Tidewater Marine. Soon enough Scott met the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, Marie, and married her in 1991. They had a daughter, Hannah, in 1993. Despite the physical pain he was in, Scott still had the twinkle in his eye and his loud barrel laugh. He devoted much of his life and love to his daughter and was a very willing and supportive Father despite very difficult circumstances. Scott continued to go to the beach where he would take a dip in the ocean to cool off and throw sticks for his dog, Auggie. He loved to go camping at El Capitan and took trips to Santa Cruz with his daughter to play air hockey and enjoy the beautiful Redwoods. Another of his favorite spots was San Clemente State Beach where the water was "warm like a bathtub". Scott was a very special man. He was smart, funny, handsome, kindhearted and strived to lead a spiritual life. His relationship with God gave him peace amidst the immense pain he was experiencing the last years of his life. Scott is survived by his Mother Jan, his five siblings, Lisa, Mark, Jeff, Donna, and Patrice, his daughter, Hannah, Hannah's Mother Marie, and many good friends. He is now enjoying the sunny beaches in the sky and catching the big outsider. We love you Scott! Rest In Peace. Arrangements entrusted to McDermott-Crockett and Associates Mortuary (805) 569-2424.
