Obituary of Norma Schlosser

Norma Schlosser passed away peacefully at Serenity House on June 9, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20, 1936, in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of Anna and Charles Cohen. She married in 1957, and moved to Santa Barbara, California in May of 1959. She was a dedicated volunteer as a docent at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse, a counselor at the Center for Successful Aging, and a volunteer at the California Highway Patrol. She was an active member of Congregation B'nai B'rith where she participated in Sisterhood, and was a supporter of the Music Academy of the West. She also had a successful and productive career in the hospitality industry with Motel 6 and Frieden Hotel Group. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Stan Schlosser, as well as by her children Carl (Jane), Steve (Suzi) and Bonnie. She is also survived by grandchildren Rachel, Jacob, Sadie, Avery and Noah, and by her faithful dog, Sammy. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and she will be missed by all who knew her and whose lives she touched. Arrangements entrusted to McDermott-Crockett and Associates Mortuary (805) 569-2424.
