Obituary of Harry Richard Olivera

Harry R. Olivera Jr. 1/17/1932 - 5/5/2015 Born in Santa Barbara, he was eighth generation Santa Barbaran and graduated from Santa Barbara High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked for G&M Foods for over 20 years until he opened his own business, Channel Foods. He enjoyed his retirement home in San Felipe Mexico, deep-sea fishing and listening to Mariachi music. He was a long-time member of the Santa Barbara Kiwanis Club. His favorite thing in the world was spending time with his large family and particularly enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He is preceded in death, by his parents, Harry Olivera and Ramona Ludvugson, his sister, Rosemarie Duran, his brother, Vincent Olivera, his son Harry Olivera III and his granddaughter Vanessa. He is survived by the love of his life, Andrea Olivera, his sister Ramona Garcia, his brother Lester Olivera (Margaret), his children Joe Olivera (Jeanne), Olivia Johnson (Greg), Patricia Tagles (Peter), Michelle Olivera, Jacqueline Maldonado (Jaime), Kelly Murphy (John), Chris Cruger, John Cruger (Stephanie), twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren as well as extended family and friends too numerous to count. A visitation will be held on Monday May 11, 2015 at 5:00 PM at McDermott-Crockett Mortuary, 2020 Chapala St. Santa Barbara, CA and the rosary service will immediately follow at 7:30 PM, the funeral mass will be held on Tuesday May 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows, 21 E. Sola St. Santa Barbara, CA, burial will immediately follow the mass at Calvary Cemetery, 199 N Hope Ave. Santa Barbara, CA Arrangements entrusted to McDermott-Crockett Mortuary
