I only now stumbled upon the tragic loss of Dr. Lumsden. She saw our cats Steve and Edgar for a few years through her mobile vet service. Edgar was her first acupuncture patient and I assisted her during those sessions. She had a wonderful bedside manner with our cats and was clearly a wonderful vet and person. Her love of animals was never in doubt. Reading her obituary and the various posts about her have been tough, but heartwarming. Feeling so sorry for everyone impacted by her death.

Dear Lumsden family,
It break our hearts to learn Amanda is gone. We first met her Jan 23rd at our house where she helped our dear dog Jett to pass away. We were so impressed by her professionalism, nd her kindness. She was outstanding. I asked her for business cards to recommend her. She was an amazing person. She came a week and a half later and dropped his ashes off in a beautiful box. We never saw any signs of this coming. Bless her and you. Just wanted to cry all day. Such special lady gone. Not fair. Hugs♡ Mrs. Senn.

I worked for Dr. Lumsden briefly, and she was always so kind to me. The day I met her was the day she put my beloved cat to sleep, and she later offered me a job. I can't thank her enough for the selfless work she did for my animals and my family at one of our worst times, and for believing in me and giving me a job. Such an incredibly kind, intelligent, and selfless woman. I did not know her very long, but I will never forget her. --Tessa

We are deeply saddened by Doctor Amanda's passing. She was part of our family and a savior to our cats. So kind, helpful and understanding, always finding ways to make our babies feel better. We thank her for her devotion to our animals, her friendship will be missed. But her contribution to this crazy world we live in, much appreciated. Sending her family much love and comfort during this difficult time. Lily, Bill, Guber and Goldie

Dr. Amanda came into our lives a few weeks before her passing to assist us in our difficult decision in letting go of our beloved 17 year old Mollie. We had never met her before and this was one of the most difficult days we had faced as a family as Mollie was a part of our family and we loved her so much. Amanda was the most loving, caring, compassionate, and insightful person, and so patient with us as we said our sad goodbyes. Amanda said Mollie was a fighter, and she loved us so much she did not want to leave us. The beautiful note she sent to us after Mollie passed brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. Her words spoke volumes about the kind of gentle soul she was and how much love in her heart she had for the animals she helped. I know she will be sorely missed in our community and my heart breaks for her family. We were so touched by her in the brief encouters we shared and we will hold her close in our hearts for the love she showed our family during such a difficult time.

I am so saddened at the passing of Dr Amanda. She was my kitty Liberty's vet for the past 5 years and was so kind and compassionate when Libby got sick last year and we made the tough decision to let her go. I had told her we were thinking of a February as the time we would start the process of getting a new kitty and as fate would have it we gained one through family. I was looking forward to sending her a picture of our new addition and was just waiting for him to get to us. I wish he could have met her and had the opportunity to feel the warmth and love she passed to her animals. My heart breaks for Dr Amanda's family and close friends. Here's a picture of our sweet Liberty and the one I never got to send of our new kitty Papi. Rest In Peace in a heaven filled with kittens and bunnies.

I first met Dr. Amanda in 2012 at a local spay/neuter clinic where she was volunteering. She kindly spayed my rescued laboratory rabbits free of charge. I could see that she was a very caring and compassionate person. When my beloved dog, Rusty, became terminally ill with a rare cancer in January 2018, I knew I would call Amanda to help him cross over. It was not going to be my regular vet, it was not going to be an emergency vet, it was going to be someone who I know is compassionate. When she brought back his remains, she gave my wife and I the most heartfelt and personal hand-written sympathy card, which we've kept. Thank you, Amanda, for all you did to help. I'm saddened by your loss. You are missed.

Thank you for your kind words, Mindy. Cooper was the last dog she helped cross over the Rainbow Bridge. She was compassionate about ending a pet's suffering as well as helping ease the pain of the owners.
Take care.

Words cannot express how deeply shocked & saddened I was to hear of Amanda's passing. I first met her back in 2012 when she came to my home & diagnosed my fearful 15 year old tabby cat Molly with diabetes. Being an R.N. myself, Amanda made it possible for me to manage Molly's insulin & fluids along with eventual meds and pain management for the complications which arose related to her condition. She ensured that Molly was able to live a quality life in comfort and gave us both four more incredible years filled with love and wonderful memories I will carry the rest of my life. Amanda was blessed with an amazing gift for recognizing both the physical & emotional needs of not only the animals she cared for, but their caregivers as well. I will be eternally grateful for everything she did for me and my "unsinkable" Molly. May God bless Amanda and her family and shelter them with love during this difficult time. May they have faith and comfort knowing that she is now at peace.

Dr. Amanda came to us quickly, as our sweet dog needed to be released. She was deeply kind, so patient, compassionate, completely understanding and lovingly gentle. Our shock at her own passing remains profound and we extend such empathy and sympathy to her family, especially her lovely Mom, who also helped us so much with all the arrangements we needed to make. Life remains mysterious, never more so than when such a beautiful person and spirit is taken far too soon. Our hearts go out to all who cared for and loved Dr. Amanda. The Bailey family

I was deeply saddened to hear about Amanda's passing! Two months ago I met Amanda for the first time. My 16 year old Jenna was diagnosed with Cancer. During the Thomas fires while waiting for evacuation notice, I realized I needed help for My beloved Jenna to cross over the Rainbow bridge. I called my Vet for help, but they were closed due to fire evacuation. I found Amanda's Mobile Vet practice, and she came the same day I called.
When she arrived, I opened the door and saw those big blues eye and I was certain she was an Angel. She was so compassionate and caring to Jenna and I. Witnessing her gentle, loving nature to Jenna.......I just knew she was going to be my new Vet for my other dog Lia. I told everybody about her! May she Rest In Peace and May God comfort her loved ones.....especially her Mother.:skin-tone-4::heart::innocent:

So very grateful for the care my sweet Rudy cat and I received from Dr. Lumsden, had no idea she had passed away, such a terrible shock. We will miss her horribly. What a blessing she was in our lives, so kind to us and so competent. Hoping that all of the critters she helped across the Rainbow bridge are there comforting her now.

Amanda was one of the kindest souls I have ever known. Even though she was primarily a cat doctor, last year she helped me with my little chihuahua Diego. She diagnosed what I suspected he had, and said that not many vets would think he had a chance. Amanda gave me more time with my boy. I hope she knew how many people and animals were warmed and comforted by her. She had one of the prettiest smiles too. Such a loss to everyone who knew her in any way. The world can be a hard place to live in when one is as sensitive as Amanda. God bless her grieving family. I will attend any service which is set up. Cyndi Pipes - cyndi@cyndisdesigns.com
