I remember enjoying the advent spiral with Stephanie for many years. It was a peaceful time and we all felt connected. Stephanie cared about the earth and social justice. Stephanie was my teacher about gender and language. In questioning her gender she taught me to be aware of such language and its impact. I loved Stephanie before she was Miles. I loved them while they were Miles. I loved her as Stephanie again. I love her still in any form.

I remember Stephanie enjoying family get-togethers. Playing ultimate frisbee at Uncle Tom’s house July 4, 2012, and bowling in May 2019. Rest in Peace Stephanie.

Uncle Greg, Aunt Doris, Dan, and Ray --
I was heartbroken to hear of Steph's passing. I have the fondest memories of playing with her and Dan as kids, especially around the holidays when you would come to our house or we would go to yours--playing hide and seek tag (with nerf guns, of course), having foam sword fights on bouncy balls, goofing around in your backyard, the other shenanigans we would get up to while my dad cooked Thanksgiving dinner. I always look back on those memories with a smile and a laugh, and I will cherish the moments we spent together. My deepest condolences to you all, and may Stephanie rest in peace.
Much love to you all,
Katherine

We were fortunate to have family close by in So Cal and when the kids were little we’d get together at Thanksgiving or to play.

BeaAnne shared this picture of Stephanie from May 2019. She wrote: The last time I saw Stephanie was when Syd brought Stephanie to visit SBCS. It was such a fun visit! Stephanie was so happy to be at the school, again. She was so warm, loving and happy. It made my heart soar! It was wonderful to see them both. It will always be such a lovely memory for me. You will all be in my thoughts and heart.
May Stephanie resit in peace.
With love and sympathy, BeaAnne

I knew Stephanie through an ASL course in 2017/2018. They had such a unique and captivating personality. Although I haven't been in touch since then, I never forgot them. A once in a lifetime person. I remember sharing poetry and thoughts about life. They will live on forever in the hearts of those that they touched.

Dear Greg, Doris, Dan and Ray:
My best memories of Stephanie are the times we got our families together and the cousins would spend hours outside playing. Simple activities like climbing a tree, playing soccer in Grandpa Walter’s back yard, or an endless game of sardines are the pure gold memories I will never forget.
Much love, peace, and healing…
Uncle Bob, Aunt Annette, and Tommy

Dear Greg, Doris, Dan and Ray:
I went hunting on my old computer looking for photos of Stephanie. I have nothing recent, but I found a couple from 2005, when your family came out to our house. Those were happier times!
We're all deeply saddened to hear of Stephanie's passing.

I had the opportunity to meet Stephanie for the first time last year. I spent the week re-connecting with her mom and getting to know Stephanie and Dan. We ate imported NYC bagels, shared Stephanie’s lunch leftovers and bonded over stories of Doris as a teenager . Stephanie enthusiastically showed us her jewelry that she created.I saw in that 1 week what a sweet loving young woman Stephanie was growing into. My deepest sympathy for your family and the world’s loss.

Greg, Doris, Dan and Ray - My heart, my thoughts, and my prayers are with all of you. I don't have any recent photos of Stephanie, but this one, taken on a trip to Webster, of Steph, her brothers, and cousins, has been framed and in my living room for years. It was a wonderful day and when I look at the photo, I can clearly see how much love and light Stephanie had to share. I'm so thankful for the time I was able to spend with her. Butch and I send you all our love.
