Obituary of Edward Candelario Rodriguez

Our Heavenly Father called his son Edward Candelario Rodriguez Sr. home on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the age of 72. Ed (as he was fondly called) was born to Florentino and Margaret Rodriguez in Santa Barbara, California on February 2, 1943. Ed served in the Army from 1962-1964 and was medically discharged after a freak accident. In 1964 he married Mary Ruth Quevedo and was married for 51 years. Ed started his career of fixing typewriters and other office machines with Ebersole Office Equipment from 1961-1970. He then went to work for Chuck Roger's Office Equipment in 1970 and became sole owner in 1980 - present. Ed was a devout catholic and was an active parishioner of Holy Cross Church which he attended regularly. Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, exploring new places, and playing tennis. He also liked his music; Country, 50's, 60's, and Prince (the little guy he would say). He enjoyed spending every Saturday morning with his tennis buddies with his thermos of coffee in tow. He was very proud of his grandchildren whom he loved to talk about, and share all their accomplishments. Ed is survived by his wife Mary Ruth Rodriguez; daughter and son-in-law Patricia Ann & Luis Hernandez ; son and daughter-in-law Edward Candelario Jr. & Luz Rodriguez; son Theodore Anthony Rodriguez; brother James Felix Rodriguez; sister Elizabeth AnnSincavage; grandchildren Christina Marie Sanchez, Cynthia Rose Rodriguez, Jesse Anthony Rodriguez, Anthony Issac Rodriguez, Tatiana Eva Rodriguez, Selena Marie Rodriguez; great grandsons Ayden Michael Sanchez and Dominic Edward Sanchez; and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be as follows: Rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at at McDermott-Crockett Mortuary, 2020 Chapala St., Santa Barbara, California 93105. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday May 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Church 1740 Cliff Dr., Santa Barbara, California 93109. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery 199 N. Hope Ave, Santa Barbara, California 93110. There will forever be a void in our hearts. He will be greatly missed. Arrangements entrusted to McDermott-Crockett Mortuary.
