Obituary of Dororthy L. Stearns

Died July 4, 2014 at age 84 at the Maravilla Senior Living Community in Goleta, CA where she resided for the past 16 months. She was born in Baltimore, MD on May 3, 1930 to the late Robert Elmer McNamee and Louise Virginia Doll. "Dottie" worked as a Supervisor for the Santa Barbara County Social Services Department for 19 years. She enjoyed music, dancing, reading and spending time with her family and friends. "Dottie" loved socializing, was passionate in her opinions, was a recreational Costco shopper and enjoyed lunches at her favorite local beach restaurant. She will be missed! "Dottie" is survived by her children Sue (Michael), David, and Karen (Bob), grandchildren Shanna, Casey, Anthony and Maelyn, step-grandchildren Daniel and Kimberly, sister-in-law Loretta, nephew Kevin, nieces Vicky and Julie, and other family and friends. "Dottie" is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Louise and her brothers Robert and Jack McNamee. The family of Dorothy "Dottie" Stearns would like to thank Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara and the wonderful, caring staff at Maravilla Senior Living. A graveside service will be held at Goleta Cemetery on July 21, 2014 at 11 AM for those wishing to attend.
