Obituary of Carolyn Gutzmann

Passed away peacefully in her home early in the morning of Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at the age of 81. Being a native Santa Barbaran, she lived, worked, and raised her family here for most of her life. After her successful bookkeeping career in title insurance, retirement allowed Carolyn more time for her true passions: knitting, baking, reading, spending time with her numerous friends and family, and caring for her two cats. She was younger sister to Celia (Dick) Williams and twin to Lucille (Bob) Tico. She spent nearly 11 years in Wisconsin during her marriage to Don Gutzmann, and then raised her two daughters, Ginny and Lori, and two sons, Gregg and Corey, together with her maternal family in Santa Barbara. While Ginny (Kevin) Campbell passed away in 2004, she is further survived by her grandchildren, Alicia (Patrick) Manning and Noah Campbell and four great grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 between 1 and 5 p.m. at Oak Park Friendship Grove. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Cancer Center of Santa Barbara, or to Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) of Santa Barbara. Many thanks to the numerous individuals and groups who cared for her through her illness, including Hospice of Santa Barbara, Food from the Heart, and SB Visiting Nurses.
