Obituary of Rosalynd Mary Polley

Rosalynd "Mary" Polley, Beloved sister, Aunt, Great Aunt and Great Great Aunt went to live with her precious Lord and Savior on April 4, 2014. Mary was born October 27, 1922 in Hollywood CA. Her family moved to Santa Barbara when she was 1 ½ years old. She lived the majority of her life in Santa Barbara and Carpinteria, where she currently resided with her brother David for the past 49 years. Mary graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1941 and continued her education for a period at the University of Missouri. Once the war began, she enlisted as a WAAC and fought the war on the Home Front. She was honorably discharged Dec of 1945. After the war she continued to work overseas and traveled extensively. Her favorite activity was to be outside working in her well kempt garden. Even at the age of 91 she continued to rake leaves, pull weeds and tend to her fruit trees and vegetable garden up until the very DAY The Lord called her home. Mary is survived by her two brothers, Bob and David, Nephews Jim and Bobby, Niece Mary Anna, Great Nieces Rebecca, Amanda, Angela, Alyssia, Danielle, Rachel, Molly and Great Nephew Jacob David,in addition to nine Great Great nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Carpinteria Cemetery at 1:00 PM Arrangements by McDermott-Crockett Mortuary
