Obituary of Roger C. Deranian

Surrounded by family and friends, Roger Deranian passed away at home on January 12, 2014, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 66 years old. Roger achieved the rank of Lieutenant in the Los Angeles Police Department, where he served for 38 years. He was last assigned to West Traffic Division. Lieutenant Deranian also served in the Army National Guard for 25 years. He retired at the rank of Major. Lieutenant Deranian was the son of Vaughn R. and Lillian F. Deranian, both deceased, and is survived by his sister, Carol Deranian, of Santa Barbara, California. Lieutenant Deranian was an exceptionally kind and giving person who devoted his life to serving his country and helping and caring for people, including his subordinates in the Police Department and Guard and his many friends, as well as contributing to the welfare of complete strangers through his involvement in many charities and other worthwhile causes. Roger will be greatly missed, and remembered with fondness by all the lucky people who were honored to call him their friend. - Arrangements entrusted to McDermott-Crockett and Associates Mortuary.
