Obituary of Horace Warner

Horace "Hoddy" Warner, DVM passed away on July 24, 2013, surrounded by his Santa Barbara family and his beloved dog, Sterling. Hoddy moved to Santa Barbara with his family in 1964. He was a local veterinarian for many years, at various times owning San Roque Pet Hospital (Blue Cross Pet Hospital), Goleta Pet Hospital and the Cat Clinic on Carrillo St. The "most fun he had in all his life" was driving an 18 wheeler for two years. He also spent many happy hours 4 wheeling in the deserts and mountains of California and Colorado. He enjoyed bird watching with his wife Margaret and playing many rounds of golf where ever he could. He played wheelchair tennis for 20 years after being in an auto accident in 1989. There he met and made many wonderful friends over the years. Hoddy is preceded by in death by his wife of 58 years, Margaret. He is survived by his sons Earle (wife Jeanne) and Brett (wife Karen); daughters Susan and Connie (husband Kevin); four grandchildren, Rex, Erin, Keya and Eric; two great grandchildren, Megan and Pandora. He will be deeply missed. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00pm on August 23rd at the Unitarian Church, 1535 Santa Barbara St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Wheelchair Tennis San Diego (WTSD), Keith Concar, 3791 Mt. Aladin Ave., San Diego, CA 92111.
