Obituary of Daniel K. Page

Daniel Kevin Page, 52 died peacefully after loosing his battle with pancreatic cancer Wednesday, June 12, 2013, with family at his side in his childhood San Luis Obispo home. Born in Brawley, Calif., in September 1960, he grew up in San Luis, where he attended Sinsheimer Elementary and San Luis Obispo Junior High School, and graduated with the San Luis Obispo Senior High School's Class of 1978. In the early '80s, he followed friends to Orcas Island, where he lived for 20 years. He was an avid horticulturist with a deep interest and knowledge in plants and trees. Daniel read extensively and was well informed on a wide range of subjects. He traveled widely in Central and South America, and more recently had visited Europe. Daniel is survived by his daughter, Jazmín Luna Page Sandoval; mother, Shirley Selkirk and stepfather, George Bruce Selkirk; brother, David Starr Page of Eastsound, Wash.; aunt, Eleanor Starr of San Luis Obispo; and many cousins and close friends. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Tressa and Alonso Page; maternal grandparents Frances and Donald Starr; and father, Hubert E. Page.
