Obituary of Robert Orsua

Passed away on January 18, 2013. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He was employed for 42 years by the City of Santa Barbara at the Santa Barbara Airport. In his younger years he worked in his father's grocery store as a butcher and even owned his own janitorial service. He was a reservist in the Coast Guard. Robert also loved playing horseshoes and even won the State Championship. He was very proud of his 35 years of sobriety and tobacco free living. He was an encouragement to others who were attempting to follow in his footsteps. Robert will be most remembered for his love and kindness. He lovingly cared for his wife, Marianne until her passing. Until he was too ill to continue, he also lovingly and dilligently cared for his first wife, Lola (mother of his 6 sons). He is preceded in death by his his mother and father, his three eldest sons: Robert, Steven and Michael Orsua. He is also preceeded by his wife, Marianne Orsua, his siblings, Juanita Ovieda, Nicholas Orsua, Pauline Orsua and Teresa Angel. He is survived by his 3 younger sons, David, Mark and Phillip Orsua, his sister, Margaret Ortiz, his grand children, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was known by many who called him "Uncle Robert." The entire family wishes to extend a special thank you to all if his caregivers. Services will be held at Calvary Cemetery, graveside, on Monday January 28, 2013 at 12:00. There will be a reception following to be held at Oak Park. Out of respect for Robert, Please no Alcohol to be at reception or Funeral. Robert inspired many and was doubted by few.
