Obituary of BonNeta Russon

BonNeta Russon died unexpectedly at home in Santa Barbara on October 8, 2012. She was born December 2, 1932, in Lehi, Utah to Ben and Blonda Russon. She grew up in Lehi and attended college at the University of Utah. To put herself through school, she worked at the Deseret Chemical Depot, the Utah Geological and Mineralogical Survey, and the Tooele Ordnance Depot. After graduation, she went to work teaching English in the Salt Lake City School system, then took some time off to be a mother to her three children - Deborah, Diana, and Jeffrey Fort. Her husband Wayne's job took them from Utah to New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia. It was in West Virginia where she returned to the working world, but this time in the banking industry. Following a divorce, she moved to Florida for a few years, then accepted a job in Santa Barbara, where she remained for over 25 years. She is survived by her children, Deborah Fort of Hawthorne, California; Diana Fort Warner and her husband Ben Warner, of Albany, Ohio; and Jeffrey Fort, his wife Marion, and their sons Owen and Curtis, of Mission Viejo, California. She is also survived by her sister Ann Ranae Williams and Ranae's children, and by friends too numerous to count. A viewing will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 13, followed by a service a 2:00 PM, both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 478 Cambridge Road in Goleta California.
