I knew June both through the Unitarian Church and a book club we both belonged to and much enjoyed. I loved being in her charming little house and always being with her. She will be missed. My condolences to the family.

June was a grand lady. I met her in 1995 as a volunteer at the Museum of Natural History. We "worked" together there for the next 13 years. In that time, I saw what a sharp, funny, talented, giving, intelligent person she was and marveled at the many ways she gave back to the community. I remember sitting at the check-in table at Santa Barbara Astronomical Unit star parties as we chatted about our common love of music (especially choral music), her family, the corner store her husband owned for many years and which was down the street from my house, and everything else you can imagine. I moved to Florida several years ago and have missed her company. I remember the time she came to visit me after the birth of my first child and brought strawberries. She had some great advice for me as a new mom and made me feel special and appreciated while I was away from the Museum on maternity leave. I will miss not seeing her the next time I come to Santa Barbara for a visit. She left an incredible legacy.

My condolences to June's family. I remember her fondly as a fellow tenor in the Gilbert & Sullivan Company of Santa Barbara in the early 90s. She had sung in many shows before I joined in late '89. She always wore the same large grey mustache when in character on stage. I also remember from my youth Kelley's Korner market, where my folks shopped for years. When my family was on a large summer trip around the US in 1962 (I was seven), we bumped into June's dad, Pop Kelley, at a lookout in Glacier National Park. Quite a coincidence. Farewell, June. I had a great time knowing you in our few years together on stage. Phil
