Obituary of Barbara Bol

Barbara passed away peacefully in the early morning of April 16th to join her loving husband Bernard J. Bol Sr., who passed away January 25, 1984. She is survived by her sister Emma Orlando, her four children Bernard J Bol Jr., Cornelius A. Bol, Maria V. Bol Ringwald and Raymond M. Bol, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Born in Ridgefield, CT, she obtained a diploma nursing degree from Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York in 1940.Travel nursing brought her to Santa Barbara in 1949 where she met her husband, settled and raised a family. Barbara worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital, UCSB Health Center, Oak Park Convalescent Hospital and other local facilities until she retired in the early 1990s. Her compassion and generosity always kept her busy caring for others; her empathy and kindness brought many people to know and love her. She took many people into her home over the years helping those in need find their way. So loving, a wife and mother will ever be remembered as giving of herself always. May she rest in eternal peace.

A mass will be held at San Roque Catholic Church on May 1, 2018 at 10:30 am with internment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery at 199 North Hope Ave., Santa Barbara, CA 93110.
